Using interpolation functions.

Hi, I have a persumeably very simple problem when using interpolation functions. I have added two images to illustrate the problem. I defined a simple saw tooth interpolation function and now I want to use this function (and its derivative) in the definition of a volume force. Comsol doesn't accept if I do this directly. I guess I have to somehow additionally define the functions under "variables" but can't find any working way to do this. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
